Art Program

TK–8th grade students receive fine art education once a week with our resident artist, Ms. Thao. Our mission is to provide every student with the visual art tools, multicultural art history, and creative experiences they need to express themselves with confidence. By collaborating closely with classroom teachers, we integrate the fine arts directly into our core academic curriculum.
What We Explore
Students are introduced to a rich variety of techniques, local and contemporary art history, and almost every artistic medium, including:
- Drawing & Sketching: Charcoal, sketching pencils, chalk, and oil pastels.
- Painting: Watercolor, tempera, and acrylic painting.
- Printmaking: Gelli plates, foam plates, and custom rubber block carving.
- Sculpture & Design: Ceramics, collage making, and portfolio development.
Throughout the year, students build personal portfolios and proudly display their finished artwork in the local community.
Supported by Our Community: Thanks to a vital collaboration of district funding and generous contributions from parents and neighbors through Trinidad School Education Foundation (TSEF), Trinidad School is able to offer this robust, specialized arts instruction led by a practicing, professional artist.
